Pandora from the ashes

The New Dawn of Lyridia and the Restoration of Sorendill.

987 PF - Present

Let it be recorded in the chronicles of the world of Pandora that an age came which would not be forgotten for many centuries to come. For the lands that had flourished in peace and prosperity for generations were shaken by a terrible calamity known as the Dragon Rage. Its fury swept across the realm like a devastating storm, leaving behind ruin, sorrow, and shadows that fell upon the hearts of all peoples.

Among those who suffered most was the ancient Elven Kingdom of Sorendill, whose towers had stood for millennia as symbols of wisdom and harmony. Countless cities were ravaged, sacred groves were reduced to ash, and innumerable treasures of knowledge were lost forever. What generations of Elven masters had built was brought to ruin in but a short span of time.

No less tragic was the fate of Lyridia, a land infused with ancient magic whose power had long served as a source of balance throughout the world. The mystical currents that flowed through its forests, mountains, and lakes were disrupted, and many places celebrated in legend were forever scarred by the forces unleashed during the Dragon Rage. Where once the light of magic shone brightly, silence and emptiness often remained.

Yet Pandora was not wholly lost. In the darkest hour arose the hero Havarlan, whose name shall forever be etched into the history of every nation. With a courage seen only once in many generations, he stood against the threat that sought to consume the entire world. His victory, however, came at a great cost, for he paid the ultimate price for Pandora’s salvation—his own life.

When at last the storm subsided and the echoes of the Dragon Rage began to fade, deep scars remained. Kingdoms lay weakened, ancient alliances had been fractured, and countless souls mourned the loss of their homes and loved ones. Yet hope endured. From the ruins rose the first signs of renewal, roads once again welcomed travelers, and the peoples of Pandora began to look toward the future rather than dwell upon the past.

Thus began a new age—an age of restoration, determination, and hope. The time had come to rebuild what had been destroyed, to heal the wounds left by the catastrophe, and to return light to lands that had long been shrouded in darkness. The fate of Pandora would no longer be defined by the devastation of the past, but by the deeds of those willing to shape its future.

And in this slow awakening of the world, new heroes began to arrive. Among them were two sisters, whose past was so tangled that few could fully unravel it. They carried with them stories—not mere tales, but stories capable of altering reality, leading listeners into hidden realms between dream and waking. Every word they spoke was a key, every song they sang a gateway. They were not simple chroniclers; they were creators of time.

And then there was the necromancer. Mysterious, cloaked in black silk, from which wisps of smoke occasionally slipped away, winding like snakes around her arms. Her presence stirred whispers of fear, but also fascination—people did not know whether she brought ruin or salvation. It was said she could hear the voices of the dead, and could turn their final thoughts into spells that might either save the world… or quietly lead it to its downfall.
